How many Bluetooth devices can I pair to the PMA450 audio panel?

Total of 8 Bluetooth devices, any additional Bluetooth devices will drop off existing Bluetooth devices that are stored.

Yes, it’s require that you pair a Bluetooth phone first and then after that you can pair any tablet, music device or other phone

Can I change the Bluetooth pass code that is stored on the PMA450 audio panel?

Yes, you can personalize the Bluetooth pin code or eliminate is completely. Default is no pass code is required.

 I cannot get my Bluetooth device to pair.?

Clear out the Bluetooth devices stored in the audio panel (review page 2-8 of the installation manual to make changes in the User Configuration Mode) and “Forget This Device” on your smartphone. Place smartphone into “Discovery Mode”

I cannot get my non-Apple device to pair.

The PMA450 is shipped with a pin code is not required. Some devices may require a pin code and will not recognize this pairing step. If this is the case then you will need to change the pin code from default “Disabled” to “0000”. Review page 2-8 of the installation manual to make changes in the User Configuration Mode

Can I answer & end a phone call from the PMA450 audio panel?

Yes, you have both “answer” or “end call” to select from the LCD screen when a call is active.

Yes, this is adjustable from the LCD screen when a call is active.

Yes, select Music>Music Distribution>Passengers>Music #1 (or Bluetooth)

Yes, select Music>Music Distribution>Pilot>Off

Yes, but only one can be active at a time.

Can I have audio alerts from my tablet Bluetooth stream to the PMA450 audio panel??

Yes, Foreflight and other applications that provide audio warnings by way of Bluetooth, if paired, will be heard.

Will speaking on the Bluetooth phone interfere with me transmitting or receiving from my comms?

No, just like hearing two comms at the same time you will hear all radio receptions along with the cellphone call. Transmitting on the aircraft radio will never be heard on the cellphone call.

Can pilot only be connected to the Bluetooth phone call and not listen to music streaming?

Yes, select Music>Music Distribution>Pilot>Off

When I leave the aircraft and return I have to select Settings in my phone and reconnect Bluetooth?

Correct, this is a battery saving method that some smartphones have. You could be required to reconnect once you get seated in the aircraft..

Will my Bluetooth music mute when I receive a phone call?

Yes, your phone will automatically drop music and allow you to hear the phone ringer, note phone ringer will need to be on. Once the call is ended, then your music will return.

With my Bluetooth phone paired to my Bluetooth capable headset, when I make a phone call I cannot hear myself (telephone sidetone), will I hear myself if I’m paired to the PMA450?

Yes, one of the many benefits with having the Bluetooth inside the audio panel. The PMA450 default is telephone sidetone “On”, this can be turned off if the cellphone provides sidetone.
